About this course

R.A.I.D Defence Systems (Rapid Action Initiated Defence) through Trisat Staff, has formed to provide community development opportunities founded upon improving situational awareness, community safety, and self confidence.

We offer subsidised and fully funded activities across East Anglia targeted in towns and neighbourhoods that experience social and economic hardships and issues of community fragmentation.  Our activities provide incredibly unique opportunities to develop transferable skills; centred upon growing confidence and understanding for personal safety; and for the safety of the public in their communities and neighbourhoods.

This course is financially supported by the National Lottery Community Fund (click on image to learn more).

About the Delivery Team

R.A.I.D Defence Systems is led by Tremaine Kent;  (BA Hons) Security Consultant and FdA Protective Management; providing consultancy for the British Military, with accreditation by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA); Tara Haines NHS Transformation Project Manager and Matthew Brown; a Civil Engineer and Great Yarmouth resident who has a passion for developing civic solutions for communities to build safer and more connected surroundings.

Our project

Citizen AID GY will offer a series of inclusive training days that have been tailored specifically with local people to meet the needs of local communities in Great Yarmouth.

The qualifications gained

Citizen AID GY is associated with and can provide pathways into the QA Level 2 Award in citizenAID (RQF) and RoSPA Conflict Resolution designed to teach members of the public life-saving skills and confidence to effectively manage difficult situations in community settings. So by the end of the 1 day course you will gain two recognised qualifications:

The reason why?

Bring people together and build strong relationships in and across communities:  The need for Citizen AID GY has grown over the last 12 months; as social tensions continue to build and become more concerning to local residents, families and communities.  Escalations in incidents of hate related and violent crimes (Great Yarmouth has recorded 3 knife attacks in the last month alone) has forced local communities to take action to address the underlying causes of these incidents; including by bringing different groups together to develop tools for cognitive prevention.  (Such as conflict management and resolution, handling aggression and understanding triggers and inhibitors to aggression).

Would you like to attend and learn life saving skills?
